Let It Snow

Pin It Early last week my scissors came up missing. In our home this means one of two things...

1. I misplaced them.
2. They are in one of the kids' rooms.

It is usually #2.

I made my usual rounds and asked each child if they knew where my scissors were and I was having no luck. I got to the final room, my oldest boy's little alcove in the basement, and opened his door. I found my scissors - and a winter wonderland.

What 16-year-old boy does this? Mine, apparently. And it's awesome.

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas?

All you need is an imagination and a pair of scissors.

Pretty intricate snowflakes there; it reminds me of when I was in elementary school and we'd make those for our homes. You never quite knew what designs were going to come out...

Pretty snazzy, esp. for a 16 yr old boy; I am impressed.

Those are awesome. I can't ever get my snowflakes to turn out. Now I know where to go for lessons. :)

impressive. We tried to make snowflakes this year and they all turned out square. :( Oh well, we had fun!

Whoa. My snowflakes always turn out kind of stupid looking, but those are awesome!

When my kid gets ahold of scissors, we have lots of snow - on the FLOOR in the shape of little teeny, tiny confetti-like pieces of paper. At least your son's snowflakes are pretty!!!

LOL! I went on a snit this evening because I couldn't find one stinkin' pair of scissors in this house....it was my husband. He was using them to cut insulation down in our crawl space. If it isn't the kids......

Very fun to see. Very cool snowflakes.

T5- Their intricacies were the most fascinating thing. He says he just experimented and came up with some fun designs.

Natalie- If you click on the picture to make it larger you can see that he made little snowmen in the one on the far left. Amazing!

Denae- I'll let him know he could have a future as a snowflake instructor. ;)

Jen- The sad thing is, mine never turn out even close to these. I wonder where he gets his creative genes from? Oh, yeah - that would be his father.

MHS- I'll let him know you were impressed.

Amber- Pretty impressive for a boy, huh?

Sarah- Yeah, his floor looked like that when he was done, too. They never stop making messes.

Rachel- The garage would have been the next place I'd have looked...

They're beautiful!

I would be very pleased if any of my kids spent time in their rooms that way.

Ah. The missing scissors. This happens in our house all the time, which is why we have a jar with, uh, about ten pair--which makes no disernible difference AT ALL--there's still never a pair around when you need one. Lawson is on the snowflake kick right now. My floor has been littered with paper flakes and he's been sticking them EVERYWHERE. It's pretty cute.

It's snowing in our living room too. BIG 2' 3D snowflakes. It's petty cool this time of year.

I am AMAZED at how detailed those are. My paper slides all over the place and they never turn out correctly all the way around the snowflake. VERY impressive!!!

Anaise- Agreed. I hope he leaves them up for awhile.

Rebecca- Well, a clean room would've been my first choice, but I'll take what I can get...

Lori- I can totally remember learning to make those as a kid and sticking them on every possible surface.

Farscaper- 2' 3D snowflakes? I think you win!
