Mundanity

Pin It You know, I really felt Mel's post last Thursday: "all things are difficult before they are easy."

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that she was writing her Thursday post on Monday and here it is... Monday, almost 8 p.m., and I'm...sort of...blank. It's Monday. And it's difficult.

My brain is cluttered today with grocery lists, Lowe's lists, swim practice, tumbling practice, four hours in 95 degree sun re-potting the twenty or so containers of mid-summer plants that have decided to take over my patio, a house that hasn't been cleaned since we left for vacation in June, and laundry. Piles upon piles of laundry. I have taken a break to blog, but I really don't know what to blog. I could tell you that I have made terrific progress but before I go to bed I still have a pumpkin to dig out of its home in a pot, because it took up residence uninvited, but now refuses to actually grow any pumpkins on its vines, which are currently spreading mayhem all over my flower bed, but that would probably bore you.

The fact is, my brain is slowly, irrevocably being squashed into submission by the mundane.

I just thought you'd like to know.

Sometimes the mundane makes the greatest of posts...

I know this is true for all of us at times! I always expect the summer to be so full of adventure every minute of every day. Really, the mundane is what makes up our lives, and ain't life grand?! I believe so.

"All things are difficult before they are easy"--that's just like what we tell people with one or two kids that shake their heads sadly and say, "I don't know how you do it; I think one (two, three, or whatever) is hard." Then we smile and say, "Well, one was hard until we had two, and two was hard until we had three . . ." We're currently at six--and six is hard. But I'll bet if we ever get to seven we'll look back and say that six was easy.

I think this comment is rather off the topic of your post, but it's what came to my mind today.

(And the comment you left on my "School Days" post still has me laughing out loud. :) )

Here's to the mundane! It is ever so much easier to cope with than the exciting!

Misty--it must be Monday?

Jason--hmmm. I think you give me too much credit...but I'll take it ;)

Leslie--(c)here's to it. You're exactly right.

Anaise--love this comment. We're all just spring and sounding boards, and that's what I love. I had nothing until I read Mel's post, and then I gave you this. Perfection. :)

Lori, I have nothing brilliant to say, just that I enjoyed it- mundane or not.

Yup, we all need to practice be4 we’re good at something, ‘The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary’. I don’t have that much laundry because I don’t have 2 many clothes, so I have to do the laundry every week, it helps that I don’t collect 2 much laundry and that I don’t give out 2 much on clothes:) We all need to take a break sometimes, I also took a break on writing on my other blog, so I’m just submitting pics on my pics blog, a little bit of change gives more inspiration in writing topics.
