And there are plenty more I didn't list, too.

Sarah- You know what they say about great minds...

Corine- I am the same. I love them both, so why skip over Thanksgiving? Enjoy the songs.

Bec- I would argue that you can enjoy Christmas songs all year, too. In fact, I do, when the yearning hits me. I love that Christmas feeling in the air and like to bring it about with Christmas music and even giving gifts randomly throughout the year. I hold no ill feelings towards those who like their 2+ months of Christmas at the end of the year... as long as it's okay for me to wait until after Thanksgiving before diving into all things Christmas. And as far as winter being gone in January... amen, sista!

MnM- First I have to say that I love calling you MnM. It makes me think of the candy. That aside, you sound like my kind of friend. Sometimes I fear that I wear out my welcome when visiting others because I could stay all night!Gerbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13103247512887532095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-68007140493397453602009-11-06T08:18:22.175-07:002009-11-06T08:18:22.175-07:00I love fall - I love the decorations. The things ...I love fall - I love the decorations. The things you can set out in October and they go all the way through Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving dinner with friends, with chaos, with rolls literally being "passed" from one end of the table to the next. Our Christmas's are pretty quiet - just our family. The kids playing with their own gifts. Quiet meals that sometimes include my parents - sometimes not. I'm much more of a "come over at 2 for dinner and stay until 10pm playing skipbo" kind of girl. I'm not ready for the greens and reds.Mom not Mum (Sandy)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16342355588737699494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-33314625233151972192009-11-06T07:38:57.971-07:002009-11-06T07:38:57.971-07:00Oops, I just forgot to say anything about Thanksgi...Oops, I just forgot to say anything about Thanksgiving, didn't I? But most of the Thanksgiving songs can be enjoyed year-round, and really, how long can you spend preparing a feast and a gathering of family and friends? Two days in the kitchen seems like plenty to me, I don't want to drag that out any longer.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355108665426444606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-71189746711492255362009-11-06T07:36:59.975-07:002009-11-06T07:36:59.975-07:00I think the problem for me is that one month is no...I think the problem for me is that one month is not long enough to be in a holly jolly Christmas mood. So I have to start listening to Christmas music in November (or maybe even October), playing Christmas songs on the piano, and thinking about my Christmas cards and gifts before shopping becomes a nightmare in December. And I have to squeeze my extra Christmas time in before December, not after. Once Christmas is over, it's over. Take down that tree, and get the decorations back in storage. And change the playlist. In fact, I believe winter should be gone by early January, altogether. Shoo! Give me spring!Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00355108665426444606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-28865315518254754282009-11-05T23:41:32.520-07:002009-11-05T23:41:32.520-07:00You're not alone! My birthday often falls on Thanksgiving (or as often as the years align that my birthday and the last Thursday of November are the same), so I kind of feel like Thanksgiving and I are bonded somehow, and it hurts my feelings to see people skip right over it without so much as a backwards glance.Amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07536962698071052804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-91093927249930289822009-11-05T19:28:32.990-07:002009-11-05T19:28:32.990-07:00You know it is really sad that we have to have a h...You know it is really sad that we have to have a holiday to remind us to be grateful in the first place. But what is even more sad is that society tends to skip right over it. What does that say about us?
Poor Thanksgiving. I for one am a home made Christmas gifts person so I start Christmas clear back in July but do enjoy the month of November and Thanksgiving and what it means. With so many children it is hard to go anywhere for Christmas so traveling to see family is Thanksgiving time. Good food, good times, good family, good memories.....I'm grateful for them all.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04904348716444211746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6995141851588869087.post-16386794385782157602009-11-05T18:35:09.952-07:002009-11-05T18:35:09.952-07:00Oh I so agree too!!!
